Each student will graduate prepared to lead a rewarding, responsible life as a contributing member of our community and greater society.
Description:
Lake Washington School District (LWSD) is located between Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains, to the east of Seattle. Covering 76 square miles, LWSD is the public school district for the cities of Kirkland and Redmond as well as about half of Sammamish. On the north end of the district, some Bothell and Woodinville residents also attend our schools.
History:
From the first log cabin school in Redmond in 1875 to the official formation of Lake Washington School District in 1944 and on to today. This brief history of the district, published in 2005, traces the growth of education in this area. Includes the history of each school building. http://www.lwsd.org/SiteCollectionDocuments/About-Us/HistoryofLWSD.pdf
