Organization Details:

Nellie Goodhue Group Homes

We provide high quality residential services in two family-like homes for 10 adults with developmental disabilities. The group homes are in North Seattle, close to activities and bus lines.

Description:
We began serving clients in 1970. The group homes are the clients homes and the 5 housemates are close. The newest client moved in to a home in 1998. Some have lived together for 30 years. Staff are available for support 24 hours a day, helping with hygiene, medication, social activities and housekeeping. Once a year the group of clients take a vacation together. All of the clients have jobs and enjoy activities in the afternoon & evenings.

History:
The mothers of the children in Nellie Goodhue's classroom formed the corporation to provide opportunity for their children to learn and grow after graduation from school. Many family members serve on the board of directors. We are certified with the Division of Developmental Disabilities and are licensed boarding homes.
