Childhood Cancer Care Line, Giving From the Heart
Our mission is to educate, support, serve and advocate, for children with cancer and their families being treated in the northwest. Our mission is also to promote childhood cancer awareness and the issues that surround this disease.
Description:
We are an all volunteer organization, that provides financial and emotional support to these families such as emergency services. These services may include practical assistance with utility bills, special needs issues, Adopt a family Holiday Program, food and gas cards, assistance with advocacy in schools and landlords, memorial or funeral assistance, just to name a few. We colaborate with other organizations to provide the necessities a childhood cancer family may need during and or after treatment.
History:
We originally were founded as the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Puget Sound in 2001. We recently changes our name to better reflect our services. We were founded by parents of Childhood Cancer children and volunteers in the medical field. We were the childhood cancer foundation that was the beneficiary of the Seattle Marathon for five years.

Wonderful organization, great cause.

There is nothing better than knowing that you helped a family in need. Being able to put a smile on a child's face, particularly a sick or recovering child, makes you feel like a quality human being. I love helping out! posted on May 31, 2009 |

Overall Experience

My experience has been extremely rewarding with this organization.

I’ve enjoyed my experiences with Childhood Cancer Careline on many levels. As a father I’ve learned to appreciate the time I spend with my family. As a person I’ve learned to respect the lessons life is trying to teach me. It feels great helping in any way I can as a member of this community. The people in this organization make you feel like you’re a part of a larger family. And we have fun. posted by IAN STEPHEN on May 27, 2009 |
