Log House Museum Mission Statement:
The Log House Museum is a place to discover and celebrate the history of the Duwamish Peninsula and the Birthplace of Seattle.

Southwest Seattle Historical Society Mission Statement:
The Mission of the Southwest Seattle Historical Society is to acquire, preserve, exhibit and interpret historic objects, artifacts and sites significant to the history and heritage of the Southwest Seattle area and to inspire interest and promote public involvement in its heritage and culture.

History:
The SWSHS was founded in 1984. The Log House Museum was opened by SWSHS in 1997.
