Agency Details:
US Lacrosse Washington
The mission of US Lacrosse is to ensure a unified and responsive organization that develops and promotes the sport by providing services to its members and programs to inspire participation, while preserving the integrity of the game.
Description:
The Washington Chapter of US Lacrosse is a 100% volunteer driven organization which works with local leagues, coaches, players, officials, and fans to support the growth of lacrosse safely and responsibly in our state. USL-WA does not determine rules, handle stats or league schedules or the like, but instead focuses on growing and honoring the game through events, coaches trainings, grants and scholarships throughout the year. Funding for initiatives pursued by USL-WA is a mix between membership fees, fund raising events and individual and corporate donors. For more specific information visit our website at www.uslax-wa.org.
History:
USL-WA was founded in March, 1997 when the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Lacrosse Foundation was reorganized. The purpose of the new organization was the same as the PNW Chapter, but the focus of the new organization was exclusively on matters of the sport of lacrosse in Washington State. Lacrosse has seen phenomenal growth over the years, with the last 8 years showing a 400% growth rate. It continues to be the fastest game on two feet as well as the fastest growing sport nationwide.
