Ballinger Family Support Center
Logo

Center for Human Services (CHS), a private, not for profit, multi-service agency, has been a resource for individuals, youth, and families since 1970. Its mission is to strengthen the community through counseling, education, and support to children, youth, adults, families, and organizations in King and Snohomish Counties.

Description:
Ballinger Family Support Center is an informal community-based center within a low income housing community. Families from diverse backgrounds can find activities, resources, and services designed to meet their needs. At Ballinger we Coordinate various programs, such as ELL classes, Citizenship Classes, parent training and parent-child activities, garden projects, after school programs, teen programs and special events. We offer resources and referrals to participants and provide an open computer lab for job search, internet, homework, etc. Free childcare is provided for our families.

History:
The agency was formed in January 1982, as a result of a merger between the Creative Life Foundation and Shoreline Youth Services.
CHS currently has four core programs that make up the agency; Family Counseling, Substance Abuse, Family Support and Loving Families. Ballinger Family Support Center began in Ballinger Homes in 2003.

One of the greatest strengths of Center for Human Services is its ability to provide, through its various locations and programs, a continuum of holistic, professional services that respond to the needs identified in the community.
