The mission of the grace children's Center's programs are to acknowledge and protect the rights of our children,families and staff to their own culture and to the customs,beliefs and practices that compromise that culture.
We will create a supportive educational,social and emotional environment wherein acceptance, ethnic pride, self-respect,individual strength and lasting relationships are nourished and developed and wherein pride and dignity prosper.

Description:
Grace Children's Center is a non-profit organization operated as a ministry of grace Lutheran Church. We provide care for children from 6 weeks to 6 years. We're open from 6AM-6PM, Monday thru Friday, all year long.We are a faith based preschool designed to stimulate learning in all areas of development: social, emotional, intellectual and physical. Our teachers combine the use of interesting,age-appropriate materials and creative open-ended curriculum to maximize learning and skill building.We also focus on helping children gain social skills that contribute to positive interactions with peers and adults.
We prepare healthy and balanced hot meals including breakfast,lunch and one snack each day. Our meal program is monitored by the USDA.
We take great pride in the education and longevity of our staff. 50% of our staff have degrees and 50% of our staff have been employed here 10 years or longer.All of our staff are certified in first aid and CPR.

History:
Grace Children's Center first opened it's doors in April 1989. It started as a mission of Grace Lutheran Church to help low income families in the area find quality child care. In July of 2001 we opened the Infant/Toddler Program. This program operates out of the basement of Grace Lutheran Church. It provides care for children 6 weeks to 2 years.

Take the Kent/DesMoines exit off of I-5. Turn right onto Kent/DesMoines Road.Stay on Kent/DesMoines Road till you reach 24th Avenue. At 24th Avenue take a right. Grace Children's Center is the second building on the left.
