Facilitating healthy lives through active recreation parks.
Description:
We work collaboratively with agencies, local business leaders, user groups and funding organizations to support parks, pools, trails, playfields, and other active recreation facilities.
History:
We were founded as "Friends of King County Parks" in 2002 as part of an effort to assist King County in keeping their parks open during the budget crisis. Since then, we recognized that all area park departments and user groups were in need, therefore, we changed our name to Northwest Parks Foundation to broaden our base of philanthropy.
