Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project
Logo

Compassionate Solutions for Feral Cat Overpopulation.
Our Mission to Save Cats
To save the lives of homeless cats by providing access to high volume spay/neuter surgery in a safe and humane environment, collaborating with others and mentoring like-minded organizations to increase spay/neuter in their regions.

Description:
The Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project offers FREE spay/neuter services for feral or free roaming cats in a safe, high quality, humane environment. During our regularly scheduled clinics, cats receive a basic health exam, rabies vaccination, and spay/neuter surgery. We also perform an ear tip to clearly identify the cat as altered in order to avoid future trapping/transport for surgery that isn't needed. These services are all free of charge. We also offer low cost spay/neuter surgery for any cat needing access to surgery for a suggested donation.

History:
FCSNP was established as a 501(c)(3) non profit organization in the spring of 1997 by a veterinarian and a group of cat enthusiasts dedicated to humanely controlling the feral cat population in the Puget Sound area. By offering a free monthly spay/neuter clinic to feral cat colony caretakers, our service provides a humane alternative to the trapping and euthanasia of feral cats, which is commonly performed by area shelters and animal control agencies. In 2003 we leased space in our own free standing clinic which has allowed us to increase the number of surgeries we are able to offer. Since 1997 we have altered over 48,000 cats. In 2007 we alter 9,506 cats.
