King Conservation District
Our mission is to promote sustainable uses of natural resources through responsible stewardship.
Description:
The staff of the King Conservation District invites you to participate in a variety of environmental restoration projects where you will learn about restoring streams and wetlands, using native plants to restore native plant communities, and engineering techniques to enhance fish and wildlife habitat. These projects are both fun and educational!
History:
Formerly named the King County Soil Conservation District, we have been in existence since 1949. The KCD is one of 48 conservation districts in the state of Washington and 3,000 nationwide. Our goal is to promote practices that maximize productive land use, while conserving natural resources and protecting water quality in King County, all through education and cooperation.
