VIBES
VIBES (Volunteers In Bellevue's Education System) is an in-school volunteer program supporting students of all needs. The Bellevue School District's mission is to give all students a high-quality, college preparatory education. VIBES volunteers help students navigate and master the rigorous curriculum designed to prepare all students for college.
Description:
VIBES is a highly successful, in-school volunteer program, supporting students of all needs. VIBES places volunteers in schools as one-on-one mentors, tutors and classroom volunteers. These opportunities are available in all elementary, middle and high schools in the Bellevue School District. Volunteers visit with students one hour per week during the school year. There are also opportunities to assist in supervised before and after school programs.
History:
This award-winning, 18-year program is a collaborative effort between Bellevue Public Schools, city of Bellevue, the Bellevue Schools Foundation, PTSA and the community. VIBES was nationally recognized in 1994, receiving the United Technologies' Exemplary Award for School Volunteer and Partnership Programs.
