Borgen Project
The Borgen Project is strategically working to make poverty at home and abroad the number one priority of U.S. political leaders.
Description:
In 2000, the largest gathering of world leaders ever assembled met in New York and agreed to cut severe poverty and hunger in half by 2015 and end it completely by 2025 (U.N. Millennium Development Goals). The greatest opportunity in the history of humankind is underway, utterly doable and being all but ignored by the world’s agenda-setter. The Borgen Project is putting pressure on U.S. leaders to achieve the plan they already agreed to, which will bring 1.2 billion people out of severe poverty over the next 20 years.
History:
The Borgen Project officially launched in 2004.
