The Council is focuses its attention on creating sustainable business practices in support of programs. This means fully funding current programs, creating cooperative agreements with other Advisory Councils, partnering with other non-profit environmental and educational organizations, and finding ways to grow programs to create a sustainable labor system. Camp Long would like to create a business plan, enhance database systems for donor and volunteer tracking, and form a marketing program. |

| The process for selecting or nominating members: |
|
- Solicit invitations to potential candidates.
- Candidates attend an informational meeting; receive a packet of information, register contact information.
- Recruitment Committee member follows up with a call about interest. Sets up a meeting with a committee member.
- One-on-one meeting to answer questions; interview candidate about their interests, skills and passion.
- Upon the recommendation of the interviewer, invite candidate to attend 2 to 3 meetings. Currently, attend first half as participating member of conversations; second half for members only.
- Recruitment Committee discusses candidate fit with CLAC goals, board composition needs, roles, interests and personality.
- Invite to membership or recommend for Friends of Camp Long or other volunteer role.
- Orient new member, complete application paperwork, determine roles and committees, formalize membership.
