Position title: Board Positions Available
Description: We are one of the largest non-profit agencies providing comprehensive services to people with disabilities in Washington state.

Our mission is supporting people with disabilities to fulfill their life choices.

For more than 60 years, PROVAIL has been expanding opportunities for people with disabilities to live, work and fully participate in the communities of their choice. PROVAIL helps individuals make their own choices about how to live their lives independently and with dignity, and then provides the support services to help them fulfill those choices.
PROVAIL provides support services designed to support all the key areas of an individual's life. They include residential, rehabilitative, and employment services.

PROVAIL seeks motivated, energetic and committed individuals from diverse backgrounds to join our Board of Directors.

Applicants should have:
• A passion to advance our mission of supporting people with disabilities to fulfill their life choices
• The drive and availability to actively participate in long-term strategic planning and regular governance activities
• A willingness to engage in fundraising and community activities

Responsibilities include:
• Attending at least 10 of 12 monthly Board meetings, which regularly occur on the fourth Thursday of each month from 4-5:30 pm.
• Participating on at least one Board committee.
• Making a personally meaningful financial gift each year and participating in at least two community or fundraising events.
• Approving major actions of the organization such as capital expenditures and major program and service changes.
• Completion of at least one three year term of service.

Type of board position: Board of Directors
The process for selecting or nominating members: Candidates receive informational packet and application. When completed application is received, the Board Nominating Committee reviews and the candidate is invited to the next full Board meeting as a guest. The following month the Nominating Committee will review and make a recommendation to the Board and a full vote takes place that month.
