Position title: Board Member Positions
Description: Seattle Center for Book Arts is seeking new/additional Board members with an interest in book arts and education. Our mission is to provide educational, technical, and creative resources for individuals in the pursuit of book arts. Our vision is to foster appreciation, understanding, and acceptance of the book as a contemporary art form and medium for self-expression. Our ultimate aim is to establish a facility specifically designed and equipped for bookmaking and all related art forms.
SCBA has worked hard for the last 3 years to grow and stabilize our programs. We are now embarking and focusing on a capacity building and sustainability project for the upcoming year. We're looking for experience in fund-raising, finance, operations and staff development to help us take it to the next level.

The process for selecting or nominating members: Interview with the Board President,and possibly another board member, review job description.
Candidate attends a Board meeting.
Candidate is nominated to the full Board.
Board appointments can be made any time of the year

Additional information about this position: We have an informal culture. We are starting a terrific growth spurt and hope to move from a fully hands-on board to an ED/Staff guiding board.
