Description:

Northwest Defenders Association Board of Directors seeks a board member with a strong financial background to assist the board in understanding and planning the agency's overall financial strategy. Northwest Defenders Association is a 501(c)3 nonprofit public defender agency located in King County. The agency provides legal representation to indigent persons. The agency has internal financial staff, outside CPA support and is independently audited each year. The board is looking for a board member who can assist in discussions of overall agency financial planning. It is not seeking someone to prepare reports or keep financial records or to do fund raising. The board meets once a month for 1-2 hours. The treasurer spends another hour reviewing the treasurer's report with the Executive Director and staff in advance of the meeting. The board is collegial and very efficient.
