Have you ever experienced the magic, beauty and wonder of a play throwing open the doors to a new world? Serving on Mirror Stage's Board of Directors helps bring that magic to others. The mission of Mirror Stage is to sensitize, educate and engage our diverse world community by reflecting and illuminating life onstage. Mirror Stage nurtures unique artistic voices and provides opportunities for newly emerging artists to work alongside more seasoned professionals. Mirror Stage is currently embarking on a planning process in partnership with the Shunpike. Your contribution of expertise, time and support are critical to the survival and growth of Mirror Stage. **Knowledge of or background in theater NOT required** Board member responsibilities include:
- Setting policy
- Supervising and evaluating operations in a financially, ethically and artistically sound manner
- Representing Mirror Stage in the community and building enthusiasm for Mirror Stage programs
- Promoting attendance at productions, programs and events
- Recruiting new board members, advisors and supporters
- Participating in Strategic Planning
- Resource Development
Board members are required to: - Attend board meetings on a regular basis (75% minimum), as well as important related meetings
- Actively participate on or chair a committee
- Volunteer for and willingly accept assignments
- Actively participate in annual evaluation and planning efforts
- Make a personal financial gift that characterizes leadership

| The process for selecting or nominating members: |

Prospective board members are sent a packet of information about Mirror Stage and then meet with the Managing Artistic Director to ask and answer any questions and assess further interest. The prospective member then attends a board meeting to meet the other board members, at which point if the fit is right and the interest mutual, the prospect is elected to a two year term of board service. |
