Get Outside and...Adopt-a-Park! Working to protect our Environment

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on October 5, 2009

(Sorry, we cannot offer court-ordered community service.) The Adopt-A-Park Program, established in 1995, is an easy, fun way for individuals and groups of any size, age and abilities to get outside and help maintain our parks and open spaces on a one-time or regular basis. Our staff will work with you to determine the best project for you or your group. Individuals can do litter clean-ups as they walk through the park, and groups can take on larger projects, such as planting, weeding or trail-building.

Youth volunteers are welcome. Volunteer with your family.

Some Adopt-a-Park projects are more rigorous and volunteers may need to be able to list 25 pounds. But we can structure activities to the individuals. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes or boots, gloves and a smile! We'll provide the rest. For planting projects, staff will instruct and guide; generally, no special training is necessary.

The minimum age for this opportunity is 4 years and older.
