Jobs with Justice is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator!

We're seeking a volunteer coordinator for our work in MLK Jr. County to work with staff and leaders and take on the following responsibilities:

• Welcome new pledge card signers to Jobs with Justice through welcome emails, mailings and phone calls
• With the Administrative Organizer, Identify and write job descriptions for the volunteer positions available at JwJ
• Devise and update a volunteer manual
• Track volunteer activity, reporting as appropriate to various staff and leaders for use in grant reports or other documents
• Develop and implement volunteer appreciation activities on a twice-yearly schedule, or more often as appropriate and quarterly volunteer e-newsletters
• Develop materials to orient and train new volunteers.
• Orient and train new volunteers
• Develop, with the Administrative Organizer, a rotation of tasks for volunteers on both weekly and monthly basis
• Work closely with volunteers to accomplish specified tasks, utilizing the Administrative Organizer’s help
• Develop and implement evaluation instruments for individual volunteers and the volunteer program as a whole

A 2 day United Way volunteer coordinator training to be attended with a JwJ staff member, as well as a minimum commitment of 1 year with at least 3-5 hours a week of work. The minimum age for this opportunity is 18 years old.

 The JwJ office is located in Belltown in downtown Seattle. We are 3 blocks south of the Seattle Center, on the corner of 3rd and Cedar. The Musicians’ Union donates space for our office in their building, so you’ll see a big sign with “Musicians Association” on the corner. The entrance to our space is on Cedar, through the gate. Look for the Jobs with Justice signs.
