Cook and Serve a Lunch for Homeless Women! Volunteer opportunity relating to Homelessness Volunteer for the Holidays!

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on June 17, 2009

We serve a hot lunch on Saturdays to the women who come to our church service. This nutritious and delicious meal is a highlight of the week and a lovely close to our morning. You can expect to serve 50 to 80 women. We have a very small kitchen so it is best to cook the meal ahead of time and bring it and serve it. We recommend "comfort food:" meat and vegetables and potatoes or rice or noodles. Please also bring beverages and a dessert. Fresh fruit (not usually available for homeless people)is wonderful too!

The volunteers need the capacity to cook a meal for a large number of persons, transport it to our site and serve it. A minimum amount of cleanup afterward is required. The minimum age for this opportunity is 12 years old.

This opportunity is sponsored by: Church Of Mary Magdalene
