The E. Cherry YWCA Young Parent Program helps young parents set goals to help become successful. One of those steps is to complete their GED. Monday and Thursday 12-5pm we host an open house with tutors to help the young parents gain the skills and confidence to approach the test for the first time. Leading one on one or group sessions based around parent’s area of need, using worksheets, practice tests and/or creative curriculum to allow for deeper understanding of subject area. Subjects covered in GED testing are: Math, Science, Reading, Writing and Social Studies. Encourage and determine when parent’s are ready to test on subjects in conjunction with the Young Parent Employment and Education Specialist. A strong knowledge of one of the test subjects: Math, Science, Reading, Writing and Social Studies. The minimum age for this opportunity is 18 years old.
