Eco Encore is a small Seattle based non profit that raises funds for environmental organizations in the Pacific Northwest through the online resale of books, CDs, DVDs and recent software donated by individuals and institutions across the country, while increasing awareness of reuse as a vital practice for resource conservation. We rely heavily on volunteer involvement as well as donations to continue running our organization. We would like to combine both opportunities for a fun, laid back and interesting volunteer opportunity. We will be hosting a volunteer party, where volunteers will be asked to gather donations of gently used books, DVD's, CD's, recent software and recent video games to donate to our cause. Along with the donations, volunteers will come and list their items into our online catalog and directly see their donation help out local environmental organizations!
*If you cannot gather donations you are still more than welcome to come down and help. We still need assistance with a variety of tasks, although bringing in items to donate assists in keeping our inventory fresh and stabilizing our online sales*
PERKS: It's a fun, laid back and relaxing environment. We provide music, food, refreshments, and all volunteers are allowed to take a few items from our 'volunteer bins' (full of great books, CD's, video games, etc.) as a thank you.
