Bill is suffering from Alzheimer's disease but thanks to the loving support of his family he is still able to live at home. Yet caregiving is a 24 hour job, that's why Bills' family has enrolled him in our Adult Day Health Program. For five hours a day Bill participates in programs designed to enhance his abilities and quality of life. ADH provides nursing supervision, physical therapy, memory therapy and allows Bill to make new friends, while his family gets a reprieve from caregiving. You can make a difference in the life of someone like Bill by volunteering at the Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation. Volunteers need to commit to one 3 1/2 hour shift per week. We will provide orientation, required trainings, and volunteer meetings. Responsibilities include working under the direct supervision of paid program staff with duties that may include:Help with feeding, ambulation, assisting participants with crafts, games, etc. Assist with serving coffee and extra activities such as helping with parties, special events, entertainment Other duties as needed such as: set up table/chairs, clean-up, et. Volunteers are required to have a tuberculosis test. A copy of the test will be kept on file. Volunteers are also expecting to sign a confidentiality agreement of all written and verbal communication about the participants/caregivers in our program.

Turn right, go over the bridge and make an immediate left on Hwy. 203 to Carnation. In downtown Carnation, turn left on Bird St. We are 1/2 block off the hwy., a 2 story cream building. |
