Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on November 5, 2009 |
The Tibetan Nuns Project relies heavily on volunteers to help in our Seattle office (and in the community) to further our mission of supporting and educating over 700 Tibetan Nuns living in exile in North India. Tibetan Nuns Project is a 501c3 dedicated to: improving standards of food, sanitation, medical care, and education in Tibetan nunneries, working towards future self-sufficiency through educational and training opportunities, training nuns to take leadership and service roles within their communities, improving the level and status of ordained Buddhist women, assisting recently arrived refugee nuns from Tibet, and continuing to establish further facilities for Buddhist nuns.
We welcome dedicated volunteers of all ages and abilities to help out at our small office in Pioneer Square. Volunteers help with a variety of tasks including mailings, database entry, artwork, creating written materials, research and web-related work to name a few. We are also happy to talk with you about creating a project suited to the skills you can offer. We can offer flexible times, a good working environment and the assurance that your service is greatly appreciated! If you are interested, please contact Susanne Peterson below.
