Fitness Floor Assistant for Downtown Seattle YMCA Working as a mentor or tutor

Do you have experience and passion for exercise class instruction and personal training? The Downtown YMCA is looking for volunteers to assist members in using strength and cardiovascular training machines and equipment, to act as a liaison and advocate for YMCA Total Health. Also, to build relationships with members and provide support to members in achieving their health and wellness goals.
Principal Activities:

  1. ) Available on the floor to assist members and answer questions.
  2. ) Convey basic health information on YMCA Total Health components and, as appropriate, refer members and participants to Total Health program or staff member.
  3. ) Ensure safe and effective workouts. Respond to, and report accidents and incidents.
  4. ) Ensure free weights and weight plates are properly put away and organized.
  5. ) Clean machines and equipment. Check that spray bottles are filled and towels stocked.
  6. ) May lead Total Health consultations depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
Current State approved first aid and CPR certification and three months of related experience.
