On-Call Programming Volunteer Working to spread Art and Culture in our community

EMP|SFM On-Call Programming Volunteers assist the museum in providing dynamic public programs and events to the public. Volunteers have the opportunity to interact with the diverse visitors of EMP|SFM while assisting museum staff. Possible programming events include: All Access Night, exhibition openings, Family Days, teacher workshops, Pop Conference, Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival, Sound Off! and more!

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the museum staff event lead as needed
• Greeting the general public, monitoring guest lists and assisting in exhibition interactives as needed
• Assisting with surveys and email collecting
• Answering questions about the program
• Providing general museum information about EMP|SFM
• Directing guests
• Ensuring guests follow general EMP|SFM rules
• Answering scheduling questions about additional EMP|SFM events and programs
• Other duties as assigned

• Enjoy interacting with the general public
• Outgoing and friendly
• Complete required training sessions
• Commit at least 3 hours a month of volunteer service
• Passion for music and/or imaginative literature and film
• Make a 6-month commitment to volunteering
• Typically requires ability to stand for 2 – 3 hours

Available Shifts:

• On-Call. Typically On-Call Programming Volunteers are most needed during weekday evenings and weekends.
