Volunteers are needed in Senior Centers across King County. Senior Centers are wonderful gathering place which provides opportunity and access to educational, social and recreation activities to enhance senior health and well-being. Staff and volunteers plan and organize classes, tours and trips, dances, birthday parties, exercise programs, sports and other activities that appeal to a broad range of community members. Many essential services are provided at senior centers including inexpensive and healthy meals, delivery of health services such as blood pressure checks, counseling and support groups, legal advice, social services referral, haircuts and more. Many senior centers include community members of all ages and provide activities that benefit the community as a whole such as clothing and food banks, knitted items for programs that serve homeless people and intergenerational programs.
