Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on October 9, 2009 |
Instructors develop lesson plans and curriculum to teach small groups of students (fewer than 10) in a classroom environment. Classes can focus on skill levels (beginning to advanced) or skill areas (reading, writing, math, speaking/listening) or specific topics (citizenship, pronunciation, grammar, math and science for the GED test, passing the written driver’s license test, etc.). Volunteers are encouraged to work as a team to co-teach, which provides excellent support for students in classes and the opportunity for volunteers to collaborate and learn from one another. Opportunities to volunteer with the citizenship program are available both onsite and throughout King County.
