After-school Connections Program Working as a mentor or tutor Working to enhance education

The Northshore Family Center is currently seeking volunteers for the After-school Connections program.
Volunteers collaborate with the Family Support Specialist by ensuring a safe, educational, family centered curriculum designed to provide academic support to students 1st to 6th grade.
The schedules are as follows:
Afterschool Connections at Green Leaf
Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 3:30pm to 6:30pm
Afterschool Connections at Northshore
Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 3:00pm to 6:00pm

The volunteers must:
Provide all services utilizing a family centered approach.
Provides services in a culturally competent manner.
Works as part of a team in providing programming to children grades 1-6; duties include assisting with curriculum implementation, supervising small group activities, tutoring, conflict resolution, and assisting with snack preparation, daily setup and breakdown.
Participates in creating and maintaining a workplace that values diversity and treats everyone with respect without regard to race, color, age, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability.
Demonstrates teamwork and open communication.
Follows agency policies and procedures, RCW, WAC, and other external regulations.
Follows CHS Code of Ethics.
Performs other appropriate tasks related to your professional role as needed.
Willingness to submit to and pass a background check.
Valid ID
And the volunteer must have a good sense of humor.
