YWCA Opportunity Place provides comprehensive solutions to the issues of homelessness and poverty. This seven story 105,000 square feet facility is located at 2024 Third Avenue in downtown Seattle. The facility provides low income housing, employment services through a partnership with WorkSource, and Angeline’s Center for Homeless Women. The objective of this position is to tend to the house plants placed throughout the office space and housing floor lobbies in order to help keep the environment inviting. This includes pruning, watering, and overall taking care of our plants. We are looking for a volunteer who can commit to a regular schedule, and come in every week or every other week to water and care for the plants. Must be able to lift a watering can to knee, waist, and shoulder level to water flowers, with up to 2 gallons of water in the container. If you have a watering can of your own you can bring to use, that would be helpful, but it is not required. We also would like someone who knows enough about house plants to identify signs of sickness and properly treat them. This opportunity is sponsored by: YWCA Opportunity Place
