| Last updated on November 5, 2009 |
Youth In Focus is a non-profit youth photography program located in Seattle's Rainier Valley. We offer classes in film and digital photography, free of cost, to Seattle- area teens. Our goal is not merely to train our students as photographers, but to prepare them for successful lives. We do this by teaching them transferable skills and engaging them with a network of caring adults. The support and assistance of volunteer Photography Mentors is integral to the success of our students. Mentors assist both in and out of the classroom, offering valuable aesthetic criticism and technical support, as well as advice on positive personal growth. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities and are currently seeking motivated people to help make a difference in the lives of the awesome youth we serve.
