Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Help assist homeless young adult between the ages of 18-25 have a safe place to sleep. Volunteers set up and clean up shelter areas, help supervise and enforce program guidelines, hand out supplies, interact and build positive relationships with guests. Overnight position is 8p-8:30a (you do get to sleep!). Each volunteer has an awake shift during the night that lasts between 1.5-2.5 hours. Court-ordered community service volunteers are accepted.
A Washington State background check is conducted for all volunteers/staff. Training includes an on-site orientation (every Monday at 7:15p) and a class called Homelessness 101 (www.udsp.org). Additional optional trainings are provided as well.  This opportunity is sponsored by: ROOTS Young Adult Shelter (RYAS)
