Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on November 2, 2009

Assisting residents during activity groups such as creative arts, bingo, cooking, gardening and entertainment. Volunteers are also needed to work on the special care dementia unit assisting residents with easy tasks and socializing. A special need we have is for volunteers to assist residents with Pampered Hands. Youth volunteers are welcome.

Volunteers must be age 13 or older. Training and staff supervision is provided for all volunteer positions. An appointment should be made for an interview and volunteer orientation. All volunteers must complete the required paperwork. This consists of application, sign in sheet, confidentiality statement, and background disclosure. During the interview and orientation volunteer assignments and initial training will be given. Volunteers will be introduced to their on-site supervisor. All volunteers must have a current PPD (tuberculosis test) on file at Providence Marianwood. These tests are given at no charge to all volunteers at Providence Marianwood. A minimum time requirement of one hour a week for three consecutive months is expected to be met by all volunteers.
