Volunteers are needed at least one hour a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays, between 12:30 and 3:00pm. Work on a one-to-one continuing basis with the same student, helping to improve his or her reading skills. This is the award-winning HOSTS (Help One Student To Succeed) program, now in its 12th year at Brighton Elementary school. Some mentors have been volunteering in this program since its inception at Brighton!

Youth volunteers are welcome. Make a difference as a mentor. Get involved as a tutor. This is a service-learning opportunity.

Volunteers need no training; orientation and guidance will be provided. Participants should be interested in working to help children, and be able to work well in an educational group setting. The minimum age for this opportunity is 16 years and older.
