Use your computer skills to help us Launch a Child's Success

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on September 3, 2009

The Skyway Tutoring/Rites of Passage Program is seeking computer-literate volunteers to supervise and maintain our computer center, and to assist tutors and their students (in grades K-8) in using the Internet and a variety of educational software programs. There is a possibility that this position could also include providing instruction in basic computer literacy and/or web site design, depending on volunteers' interests and availability. Youth volunteers are welcome. Court-ordered community service volunteers are accepted. It's a "blast" to volunteer, plus you could help a young person "lift-off" from our waiting list into our program.

Because this volunteer opportunity includes working with children, references and a Washington State Patrol background check are required. In addition to computer skills, patience and an ability to communicate with children from diverse backgrounds are needed. Orientation will be provided. The minimum age for this opportunity is 16 years and older.

This opportunity is sponsored by: Skyway Tutoring/Rites of Passage
