Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on October 2, 2009 |
Volunteers set up and clean up shelter areas, help supervise and enforce program guidelines, hand out supplies, and interact and build positive relationships with guests. Our volunteers are vital to opening the doors every night of the year and providing a safe place for homeless youth to sleep. We are looking for caring and compassionate people to volunteer at ROOTS and make a positive difference in the lives of the young people we serve. This is a service-learning opportunity.
A Washington State background check is conducted for all volunteers/staff. Training includes an on-site orientation (every Monday at 7:15p) and a class called Homelessness 101 (www.udsp.org). Additional optional trainings are provided as well. This opportunity is sponsored by: ROOTS Young Adult Shelter (RYAS)
We need volunteers who are free at these times
