Young Heroes Team Leader

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on November 12, 2009

The Young Heroes program of City Year Seattle/King County is looking for dedicated adults to lead this year's group of Young Heroes as they build leaderships skills and improve Seattle neighborhoods. We hope you are up to the challenge! Young Heroes is a community-based service and leadership development program for middle school students throughout Seattle and King County. As a team leader you would be responsible for co-leading a group of 8-10 Young Heroes in service and educational activities on 3 Saturdays a month between January and May. Team Leaders are expected to serve for at least 12 of 15 sessions. However, we ask that all Team Leaders be present at special events such as the Young Heroes opening ceremony on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 16, 2010, team leader training, Global Youth Service Day in late April, and Graduation in May. Youth volunteers are welcome. This is a service-learning opportunity. Make a difference as a mentor.

All interested Team Leaders must complete a volunteer application and attend a team leaders training. Please contact Taylor Oden for more information. The minimum age for this opportunity is 18 years and older.
