Young Heroes Volunteers

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on November 12, 2009

The Young Heroes program of City Year Seattle/King County is looking for volunteers to help with this year's group of Young Heroes as they build leadership skills and improve Seattle neighborhoods. We hope you are up to the challenge! Young Heroes is a community-based service and leadership development program for middle school students throughout Seattle and King County. Young Heroes will begin January 16, 2010 and run through the end of May.

Volunteers are not Young Heroes or Team Leaders: there is no required time commitment, graduation, or compensation. But if you like working with kids, want to make a difference, and think you might enjoy doing service side by side with the 2010 Young Heroes team, give us a call! Parents of Young Heroes welcome!

Young Heroes do service learning projects three saturdays of every month beginning Martin Luther King Day, January 16, 2010, and ending at the end of May, 2010. If you are a middle school student interested in the program, see our posting titled "Be a Young Hero." If you are a young adult or adult who can commit to at least 12 of the 15 saturday projects and want to lead a team of 8-10 Young Heroes through the five month program, see our "Young Heroes Team Leader" posting.

All interested volunteers must complete a volunteer application. The minimum age for this opportunity is 5 years and older.
