Give your gift of time, energy and spirit this holiday season as we once again with the support of the community bring toys and gifts to over 350 families at our annual Holiday Toy Store. Volunteer opportunities available for pre-event help, day of Toy Store needs, and follow up help. Check-out, Volunteer Break Room Monitor, Shopping Guide, Toy Monitor, Gift Wrapper, Stocker and Floater are some of the volunteer roles that need to be filled. We have several volunteer positions still available for Wednesday, December 16th. Also for set-up on Tuesday, December 15th and break down on Thursday, December 17th. Volunteer Time Slots that will fit your schedule are also available. Youth volunteers are welcome. Court-ordered community service volunteers are accepted. Happy Holidays! All Toy Store volunteers will attend a brief training prior to the start of their shift. Volunteers must be flexible, culturally sensitive to our participants and cheerful! Volunteers who speak the following languages are especially needed: Spanish, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Somali, and Samoan. The minimum age for this opportunity is 15 years or older. The Rainier Beach Family Center is located inside the Rainier Beach Community Center.
Going South on I-5
-Take the Albro Pl./Swift Rd. exit
-Take a left at the light at the end of the Exit ramp
-Cross over the freeway and take a right at the next light onto Swift Rd.
-Take Swift Road south
-When it swings to the East the road name changes to Othello St.
-Take Othello to Rainier Ave.
-Make a right onto Rainier Ave. at the light
-Rainier Beach Complex is about ½ mile south on Rainier Ave on the right.
-Turn right into the Parking lot.
Going North on I-5
-Take the Martin Luther King Jr. Way exit
-Take MLK Way north to Cloverdale St.
-At the light on Cloverdale take a right turn.
-Turn right at the next light which is Rainier Ave S. Once you are on Rainier Avenue before you reach the next light which is Henderson, turn into either of the next two entrances on the right into the Rainier Beach Complex parking lot.
