Our patrons borrow and return 2,000 talking books to our library every day and we want your help to check the returned books for completeness and repair needs, so that we can send it to the next patron as quickly as possible. Volunteers work at an inspection station in a large room equipped with high-speed machines to rewind tapes. Volunteers can visit while working or listen to a book or music. Youth volunteers are welcome. This can be a service-learning opportunity.
Volunteers will receive a 20-minute demonstration training. A minimum of four and a maximum of 11 individuals can volunteer at each session. The minimum age for this opportunity is 12 years and older. This opportunity is sponsored by: Washington Talking Book & Braille Library
