Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on August 18, 2009 |
Would you like to help WWC while going hiking and brushing up on your landscape photography?? This is a great volunteer opportunity!!! Taking photographs of unprotected (usually inventoried or uninventoried) roadless areas is a powerful and important method of outreach. Helping people to understand what is at stake by showing them is essential for a successful campaign. Desired qualifications include volunteers who have some previous experience with photography, enjoy the outdoors and like to hike. Your photos will receive credit each time they are used, and will be used for WWC publications, including our bi-monthly newsletter, on our website, in membership outreach letters and other publications. WWC is in need of photos in the following categories:
- Local wildlands and wilderness areas around the state (images may include people enjoying recreational opportunities)
- Threatened areas
- Wild Sky Wilderness Proposal photos
- ORV damage (any location in Washington State is fine)
- Roadless Areas
- Photos taken on the Olympic Peninsula of wilderness or wildlands.
This is a self-directed volunteer opportunity; we are happy to answer any questions you may have and also assist in helping you find areas to hike around the state. Digital photos are preferred. To volunteer and to set-up a time to come into our office for an orientation, contact lisa@wawild.org or call 206.633.1992.
Volunteers must love the outdoors and like to hike. Volunteers also need to have some previous experience with photography. This is a self-directed position. This opportunity is sponsored by: Washington Wilderness Coalition
