The mission of the Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers is to build and strengthen families and their children, instilling hope for the future and a better quality of life.

Description:
The Maine Children's Home has become a multi-faceted organization that has grown to meet the needs of today's children and families. Today's services include a Teen Parent School Program for pregnant and parenting teens; The Children's Place, a comprehensive early childcare and education facility; The Harland A. Turner Family Counseling Center, an outpatient mental health counseling center at both our Augusta and Waterville locations; community education programs; the Adoption Program with birthparent services, home studies, and placement (infant and international); the Christmas Program; and the Summer Camp Scholarship Program.

History:
Our heritage and our own unique ability to respond to our clients' individual needs define the strengths of our organization. Our board of directors, staff, and volunteers exemplify our belief that giving of oneself is fulfilling. Confidentiality is vital to the provision of programs and services and our commitment to our clients is long-term. We continue to empower the children and families we serve to reach their full potential by responding to clients' unique needs that are unmet by other agencies.
