Do you love to read? Do you love interacting with children? Then you can be a Born to Read volunteer! Preschoolers will welcome your story-telling and you can pass on your love of books to the fantastic minds of these little ones. If you are 55 or over Penquis Retired & Senior Volunteer Program has wonderful opportunities for you in a day care or head start center that really appreciate YOU. Training and books are provided through the Born to Read program of the Maine Humanities Council.

You must pass a criminal background check for the safety of our children!

Directions:
 From Portland travel north through Thomaston on Route 1, upon entering Rockland take second street on right about 1/2 mile, located in the KNO-WAL-LIN Building. Bangor driving South on Route 1, drive through Camden, Rockport enter Rockland at the traffic light at Maverick St.(at McDonalds) turn right. This is also posted as Route 1A By-Pass. proceed to a flashing yellow traffic light taking a left onto Broadway. Travel south on Brodway through 3 traffic lights. At the 4th light is the intersection of Route 1 and Park Street. At this intersection you will go straight, over the railroad tracks take your first right onto Pleasant St. About 1/3 mile you will find the KNO-WAL-LIN granit stone sign on the left side of the road. The building is cream colored with green metal, we are located in Suite A.
