Can You Help with April Stool's Day this Year? "JUST DOO IT"
What is April Stool's Day? 17 years ago, intrepid citizen dog owner and Friends of the Eastern Promenade founder Diane Davison started tacking up flyers asking for neighbors on the Eastern Prom to come out in force to clean up the winter of unscooped dog poop. I was so moved by the mission and charmed by the sense of humor of it that I asked Diane if we could work together on it, even open my little dog and cat store called Fetch on April Stool's Day and make a big event out of it. Read more.
This year's April Stool's Day is Saturday, April 4th, from 8-10 am. Diane and I thought it was time to grow the event, so we've enlisted help from some terrific dog and neighborhood groups, like SoPoDog, Munjoy Hill Neighborhood Association (MHNO) and West End Neighborhood Associatoin (WENA). And, we've got satellite city participation in Belfast, ME and Charlestown, MA!!
We need volunteers, not only to participate in the scooping the day of the event, but also to act as 'captains' of specific pick-up areas, especially for the Eastern Prom, East End Beach, and East End Trail. We also need ground troops to help put up posters.
To volunteer, please contact either:
Diane Davison, via Diane's email or 774-2822 or Kathy Palmer, via kathy's email or at Fetch, 773-5450 Thanks & Happy Scooping! Kathy
