Virginia Tech created a new volunteer program called VT-ENGAGE to encourage volunteerism and enhance the relationship and partnership efforts between the university and the community.
United Way and VT-Engage are community partners in an effort to match volunteers with organizations needing volunteer help by utilizing an online system called Volunteer Solutions. You can use Volunteer Solutions to find volunteer opportunities and/or post the volunteer needs of your group.

Are you eager to make a positive impact on your community? Do you want to enter a human services field after graduation? Gain relevant experience for a future career in psychology, sociology, human development, or social work while also making a positive difference in the New River Valley! Pointe West Club is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to donate their time, energy, and skills to adults who have intellectual disabilities and/or serious mental illness. Come in and share your abilities in creative ways with our members! We are looking for compassionate volunteers who would enjoy teaching, mentoring, and assisting adults with special needs. We are open Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. with flexible volunteer hours available. Volunteers must undergo a TB screening and sign a confidentiality agreement.
