Bereavement Volunteer Volunteer Opportunity Details: Last updated on January 22, 2009 Volunteers are the "Heart of Hospice;" even more so as we follow families after the death of their loved one. The bereavement volunteer must have a heart of compassion and the ability to empathize with our families after their loss. Volunteer will make follow-up phone calls, make visits to the families, and assist with mailings. Must be empathetic Must have great communication skills (verbal and written) Must be compassionate Must attend four 4-hour training sessions.
