One of the main reason faith-based and neighborhood associations and non-profit organizations gather together is take strength in common beliefs and understandings, and to support each other through times of trials and happiness. Church is not only a place to sing, pray and praise, but also a place to share who we are and what troubles us, and to find solace in others.
This church has declared to be a beacon of light; a place where individuals with hearts open to love and forgiveness come together to encourage each other through life's battles. (John 13:35) It is through this open-hearted love that we prove our sincerity as Christians.

History:
Rev. David Reasby started the Lighthouse Full Gospel Baptist Church at 1600 E. Capitol in 1991.
He noticed that there was a great need to counsel and fullfill needs of families of those who had loved ones incarcerated. He welcomed everyone in the neighborhood and that is when the requests for no-cost clothing and food resources developed. Being dedicated to these families, he began to visit and bring insight to the inmates whom families where out here struggling financially, emotionally and spiritually.
Rev. Reasby has gathered many awards in the past 19 years for his committment to the community. Now, we are expanding a large rate to provide a wrap around service to all. This next year we are looking for at least 50 volunteers to experience hands on coordination, teaching, caring and delivering services within our programming. We are asking anyone with skills or those that want to refine skills to come and join our family.
