Our programming has a strong feminist foundation based on female responsive philosophy, female development, youth development and youth/adult partnerships. GEEZ Louise! also understands how culture, sexual orientation and economic status affect women?s lives including how they experience gender.

Description:
GEEZ Louise! provides advocacy services, direct education, skill building and spiritual programming for women of all ages with an emphasis on high school and college age women. Community education and monthly awareness activities are held to educate the community on the needs of women and girls. Direct programming and advocacy services include but are not limited to: summer and after school programming, intergenerational feminist groups, energy work and skill development activities.

In the early winter/spring of 2009, we are hoping to create a feminist media campaign (e.g. billboards/postering/blog/video) to display in Des Moines or in the digital world. We will be holding focus groups to brainstorm ideas for what YOU think is relevant to include in the campaign. These group sessions and/or work on the bringing the ideas to fruition could contribute to your volunteer hours.

We're a 501(c)3 non-profit agency established June 22, 2006 to educate and empower women and girls in Central Iowa.
