Adopt-A-Family For the Holidays

Description:

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa staff identify Club members (and their families) needing holiday assistance. We work to gather information about the needs of the member and family – food and clothing needs as well as 1-2 gift ideas. The volunteer can give us a call at and let us know that they would like to sponsor a family (or as many families as they would like to sponsor). We will get the member information to the volunteer and they can do their shopping for the member and their family.

This is a great volunteer opportunity for an entire family – from the shopping and selection of items/gifts to the wrapping and delivery to the Boys & Girls Club. We ask that volunteers try and deliver items and gifts to our office at 1350 E. Washington Avenue by Friday December 11. This will permit us to get the gifts to the families in timely manner.

Just so volunteers know – we tell members and families that we cannot guarantee all the items they might list will be purchased but that volunteer sponsors will do their best. We also ask members to stay away from “high ticket” requests such as video gaming or hi-tech gadgets.
