Volunteer Opportunity Details:

You can adopt a Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa family for the holiday season and help make wishes come true for children and families. Our families are surviving on extremely limited incomes and struggle to afford the most basic necessities. Holiday gifts are a luxury out of their reach. This is a great opportunity to make this Holiday Season extra special by helping those in need provide gifts for their loved ones.

You will be provided with a holiday wish list from a family in need. You may choose how many and which gifts to purchase for the family. Big Brothers Big Sisters staff can assist you with any questions you have throughout the process.

If you are interested in adopting a family this year, please contact Katie Schorsch by November 30. You can make holiday wishes come true!

We ask that all donors be registered by November 30.

Directions:

From I-235 take the 22nd street exit in West Des Moines. Proceed north on 22nd Street about one mile, cross the railroad track to the corner of Swanson Blvd and 22nd street(Brueggers Bagels and Taco Johns on the corner). Turn west on Swanson Blvd, past Reiman Noodles and cross the railroad tracks again. Immediately after the tracks, you'll see the BBBSCI building on the north side of Swanson. It is a one-story brick building with a colorful animal sculpture in the front. Park in the parking lot in front of the building.   Nearest Bus Stop: Not available
